Types of Massage Therapy We Offer

Acute Care and Injury Rehabilitation

Using a team/integrative approach to care, this form of therapy is completed under the direction of a physician. Working on muscles and connective tissues through a combination of physical stretching, exercise, and massage therapy, the goal is to reduce inflammation, pain, and spasm through various techniques including trigger point, myofascial release, and neuromuscular therapies.

This is more commonly used for auto-accident and workers’ compensation injuries. However, these treatments are suitable for anyone seeking to benefit from them. Please call for special pricing.

Medical Massage

A full body or targeted massage involving varied pressure and techniques such as trigger point therapy, neuromuscular re-education, myofascial release, active and passive range of motion techniques and stretching.

This therapy is used to decrease inflammation and pain, assist in healing injuries, new or old, and restoring normal muscle function, flexibility, and range of motion. Please call for special pricing.

Therapeutic Massage

A full body massage incorporating light to medium pressure, which incorporates effleurage, petrissage, tapotement, percussion, and stretching.

This massage will release muscle tension, anxiety, and body toxins while improving flexibility and muscle movement.

Deep Tissue Massage

This type includes either full body or specific area work in which the therapist uses heavy pressures to restore normal ranges of motion to your injured muscles and joints. This technique also uses trigger point therapy in which pressure on a tension point in the muscle is sustained until the tension releases.

This massage is designed to enhance muscle coordination and endurance, alleviates pain and discomfort.

Prenatal Massage

During pregnancy, your entire body adapts to the new life growing inside you. You need and deserve emotional and physical support. Prenatal massage is attentive to these concerns.

This type of massage offers relaxation and alleviation of neck and back pain caused by muscle weakness and imbalance. In addition, the development of sensory awareness in this massage promotes easier labor and delivery.

This style of massage can also help with symptoms such as:

  • Heartburn
  • Edema
  • Muscle aches
  • Fatigue
  • Anxiety relief
  • Circulation
  • Better Sleep
  • And more

What to Expect

Before your appointment, we will ask that you complete a Welcome Form which includes an initial general health history, allowing us to customize the massage in order to produce the best outcome.

Comfortable clothing can be worn, such as shorts and/or a sports bra, but each client is completely covered under linens. Extremities are uncovered during the massage allowing for minimal exposure to protect the modesty of the client.

We use unscented lotions that are paraben free, however, if you have allergies, we would request that you bring lotions that you would normally use that are known to keep you comfortable and safe.

Please also bring a list of any medications you are taking to ensure that the massage and pressure used are not in contrast to your overall health.

We will review your health history, specifically looking at past injuries and therapies, in order to provide the best customized care plan. Your massage will be configured based on this plan, your personal preferences, and physical condition.
